As part of our ongoing updates on refunds from the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association, Safeco Insurance Company has announced that they began issuing refunds on April 18th. They are issuing the via direct deposit if you are currently set up for automatic withdrawals with them, otherwise they will be mailing a check. Safeco also indicated they have not received all funds from the Department of Insurance and Financial Services, so not all refunds can be issued at this time, however, they still anticipate receiving those funds and issuing them by the deadline of May 9th.
This refund is based on registered vehicles covered by an insurance policy as of 10/31/21. Customers will receive:
$400 per vehicle eligible
$400 per motorcycle registered for road use
$80 per historical vehicle
