The saga of Al Bourdeau Insurance Agency began with a visionary, Al Bourdeau himself, who departed his Saginaw farm home in the early 1900s to join General Motors in Flint. In 1921, Al transitioned from his role at General Motors to embark on the journey of selling auto insurance. A pioneering spirit led him to park in the very same General Motors lot, where he'd now sell insurance policies from the trunk of his car.

Decades later, Al's legacy was carried forth by his son Donald, who joined him in 1945. Together, the father-son duo steered the agency toward growth. Subsequently, grandson Robert L. Bourdeau assumed the mantle, driving the business forward through the 1960s and early 1970s. The establishment of a second office in Port Huron in 1971, led by Robert's brother Jacques, marked a pivotal expansion. Over the years, the agency's growth was further fueled by the integration of over 30 other agencies, culminating in the establishment of multiple additional locations across Southeast Michigan.
